Westson Lake Recreations Area FamCamp

Weston Lake Recreation Area is a year-round military campground operated by Fort Jackson and located in Hopkins, South Carolina, approximately 7–10 miles from the main installation and a short drive off the interstate. Set among tall pine trees on a man-made lake, the property offers a wooded, lakefront setting that feels removed from city traffic while still being easily accessible. The RV campground includes more than 30 full hook-up back-in sites with concrete pads and 30/50-amp electrical service. Eligible guests may use a valid National Parks pass for discounted rates when applicable.
Recreation & Amenities
The lake supports fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. Private boats may be permitted with proper registration. Swimming availability may vary depending on seasonal conditions and maintenance updates, so guests should confirm current status before planning water activities. The recreation area also includes playgrounds, walking and biking trails, a sand volleyball court, and a disc golf course. Several covered shelters and community buildings are available for rent and can accommodate large gatherings such as reunions or events. Boat and paddlecraft rentals are offered on-site at hourly or daily rates.
Guest Policies & Notes
Pets are permitted in RV and tent camping areas but are not allowed inside or around cabin units. Certain reservations, such as cabins or large event spaces, may require a refundable cleaning or damage deposit. Because the campground operates within a military installation environment, guests may occasionally hear bugle calls or training-related activity from nearby ranges.
