Eagle Hammock RV Park

Eagle Hammock RV Park is a 220-acre military campground located along Lake D within Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia. Surrounded by wooded areas and natural shoreline, the park provides a peaceful setting known for wildlife sightings and scenic lake views. The campground has received national recognition within the military camping community for its quality and overall guest experience. The location places visitors near the coastal community of St. Marys and within reach of Cumberland Island National Seashore. Interstate 95 is easily accessible, making day trips to Savannah, Georgia’s Golden Isles, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and other Southeast destinations convenient. Site Details The campground includes 70 full hook-up RV sites built on level concrete pads. Sites provide 30/50-amp electrical service, water, sewer, cable television, and Wi-Fi. Layout options include lakeside back-in spaces, pull-through sites, and standard back-in pads. A limited overflow/dry camping area is also available. Two furnished one-bedroom cabins are offered for guests seeking non-RV accommodations. Amenities & Recreation On-site facilities include air-conditioned bathhouses, complimentary laundry, and a community building known as “The Nest,” which features a kitchen and workspace area. Outdoor recreation options include fishing piers, a kayak launch, boat rentals, and more than six miles of paved biking and walking trails. Guests staying at the campground may also access base amenities such as the commissary, Navy Exchange, fitness center, bowling alley, and movie theater. Access & Reservations Use of the park is limited to authorized military members, retirees, National Guard, Reservists, DoD civilians, and other eligible ID cardholders. Reservations are handled through Navy Getaways, with booking windows varying based on eligibility category. Arrival Advisory Standard GPS routing may direct drivers to restricted gates. From I-95, take Exit 1 onto St. Marys Road and proceed toward the Franklin Gate (check gate hours in advance). If arriving after gate closure times, use the Stimson Gate. Once on base, follow USS Daniel Webster Road to reach the campground entrance.
