Great Lakes RV Campground

📍 Great Lakes, IL ✔ Branch: Navy 🏙 NS Great Lakes

Overview

The RV campground at Naval Station Great Lakes sits right along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Great Lakes, IL. It runs year-round and has 20 concrete sites wired for electricity — 12 of those run 50-amp service and the other 8 run 30-amp. When summer rolls around, 5 additional sites with 20-amp service open up. Showers and restrooms are available on-site. A beach and beach house, fishing piers with a fish-cleaning station, a playground, picnic areas, and an archery range round out what's here. Campers can also tap into the Marina's Ship's Store and the Community Recreation Rental Center. NS Great Lakes is the Navy's largest training installation, so base services are well-established. To book, call 1-877-NAVY-BED or go through dodlodging.net. The front desk reaches at (847) 688-6763. Office hours run Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. When you arrive, check in at Building 13. Verify current pricing and access eligibility before you head out.
