Barksdale AFB FamCamp
Overview
Barksdale AFB FamCamp sits on the base's East Reservation, a scenic, wooded wildlife-managed area in Bossier City, part of the Shreveport metro in northwest Louisiana. It offers 60-plus paved full-hookup sites with 20/30/50-amp electric, water, sewer, and free WiFi, plus a newer section with large concrete pads and open grassy spacing, and primitive tent camping. Twelve fully furnished 3-bedroom Recreational Lodging Units are also available. The FamCamp clubhouse has a living room with a fireplace, TV, and WiFi computers, with laundry, restrooms, and showers nearby. A convenience store is about 1.5 miles away; the base commissary and exchange are on the main base. The Shreveport/Bossier City area offers casinos, dining, and entertainment — and B-1 bomber flyovers are a signature perk.

Important Info
RVs enter via the Commercial Entrance Gate off I-20 Exit 23 (use the main gate after 5 PM). Campsites are first-come, first-served; the furnished rental units require reservations (up to 90 days ahead). Open to active, Guard, Reserve, retired, 100% DAV, DoD civilians, and guests. No diesel fuel on base (available just outside the east gate). The newer section has little shade — a consideration in summer. Call the FamCamp office to confirm the current number and rates before you travel.
