Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA)
Overview
Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area — LORA — is Fort Leonard Wood's off-post recreation area in Linn Creek, Missouri. The facility runs RV sites with full hook-ups and 30/50 amp electric, plus rustic campsites, cabins, and a marina on one of Missouri's largest lakes. A laundry facility is open 24 hours a day, and the on-site Country Store carries groceries, live bait, fishing licenses, and propane. The marina offers boat rentals — bass boats, pontoons, deck boats, and jet skis — along with wet and dry storage. Swimming is permitted off LORA's shores on a swim-at-your-own-risk basis. The marina closes from November 1 through the first Friday in March. Reservations are by phone only at (573) 346-5640 — no online booking exists. Cancellations made fewer than 48 hours before arrival result in a one-night charge. Call to confirm current rates, eligibility, and availability before you head out.
