Deseret Reservoir Recreation Area
Overview
Deseret Reservoir Recreation Area sits on Tooele Army Depot in Tooele, Utah — about 35 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. The area runs from the first weekend in May through October 31 each year, dawn to dusk for day users. Eleven overnight sites are available: 4 full hook-up spots each with a shaded picnic table and BBQ grill, 4 primitive sites, and 3 tent sites. Full hook-up sites run $35 per night; primitive sites are $20; tent sites are $10. Shore fishing is permitted — no catch and release, so check the Utah State Fishing Guide for current catch limits. Twelve covered pavilions with picnic tables ring the lake, and an ADA-accessible ramp and fish cleaning station are on site. Access is limited to eligible patrons. Use permits and camping permits must be purchased at the Outdoor Recreation Center, Bldg. 1011, or the TEAD MWR Physical Fitness Center during normal operating hours. Important Info
Small lakeside area with 4 full-hookup RV sites (30/50 amp) and 4 dry/tent sites (no vehicle access — carry in gear). Season runs the first Saturday in May through October 31; open dawn to dusk only, closed in winter. A separate recreation-area use permit ($5–15, free for active duty) is required in addition to camping fees, purchased at the Outdoor Recreation Center (Bldg. 1011). Call (435) 833-3100 to reserve.
