Altus AFB FamCamp
Overview
Altus AFB FamCamp is a small, no-frills campground on Altus Air Force Base in southwestern Oklahoma, offering 12 concrete-pad RV sites with 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer hookups. It's RV-only — no tent camping — but accepts big rigs and sits on flat, open ground near the base's main gate. Check-in happens at the Outdoor Recreation Center on base rather than at the campground itself. It's a modest, budget-friendly stop rather than a destination campground, but it puts travelers within a short drive of the Museum of the Western Prairie and, farther out, the lakes and cabins of Quartz Mountain State Park in the Wichita Mountains.
