Overview
Del Mar Beach Resort & Campsites is one of the few military campgrounds directly on the beach in Southern California, located on Camp Pendleton between Del Mar Beach and San Onofre Beach. The resort offers 116 full-hookup RV sites — including a prime beachfront row — plus 62 fully furnished cottages with kitchenettes, patios, and grills. Guests get access to a lifeguarded beach (seasonal), volleyball nets, and the resort's own guest services team. It's a popular, busy destination on weekends, with front-row beachfront sites commanding a premium over the back rows.

Important Info
No dogs allowed on the beach itself (nearby bird nesting/environmental protections); dogs permitted on leash in the campground. Restricted dog breeds apply per Camp Pendleton policy (pit bull terriers, American Staffordshire terriers, Rottweilers, wolf hybrids, and mixes). RV check-in is 1pm; cottage check-in is 4pm. Reservations for near-term dates are same-day walk-in only — call the 24/7 Reservation Call Center at (888) 409-7829 for future dates. Open to active duty, National Guard, Reservists, retired military, DAV, Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, veteran caregivers, DoD civilians, and sponsored guests.
