Montague Travel Camp
Overview
Montague Travel Camp at Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) in central Texas runs 82 full hook-up RV sites split between 16 pull-through and 66 back-in spaces. Every site carries 50/30/20-amp electric service with water and sewer connections. Pull-through sites can be reserved up to six months out, with a 14-day maximum stay on those two reservable spots. The default stay limit across the camp is 90 days, with extensions available on request. On-site you'll find a dump station, coin-operated laundry and showers available around the clock for registered guests, a playground, and picnic tables. WiFi is accessible in the Customer Service Building Lounge. The camp also operates a 281-site fenced storage area with 24/7 keycard access for RVs, boats, and trailers. Access is DoD ID cardholders only. Entry routes through the Clarke Road exit off Hwy 190, and all RVs must clear an on-post security screening including an X-ray check before proceeding to the campground. Avoid arriving between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. if you can — wait times run long. Call (254) 288-9926 to confirm current availability and access procedures before you roll in.
