San Onofre Beach Cottages & Campsites
Overview
San Onofre Beach Campgrounds sit at the north end of MCB Camp Pendleton, one of three recreation areas on base open year-round. The campground offers full hook-up sites with 30/50 amp electric, plus a laundry facility and playground on site. Cottages are also available separately and come fully furnished with kitchen equipment and beach access. Camp Pendleton is one of the largest Marine Corps bases on the West Coast, and San Onofre puts you right on the beach. Reservation offices are open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with guest services running 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A 24/7 reservation call center is available at (888) 409-7829 for future bookings. Before you reserve, confirm base access eligibility. Per MCO 5530.13, a REAL ID-compliant document, U.S. Passport, or Enhanced Driver's License is required at the gate. A reservation does not guarantee entry, and cancellation fees still apply if access is denied.

Important Info
All visitors must present a REAL ID-compliant ID, U.S. Passport, or Enhanced Driver's License at the gate per MCO 5530.13; a reservation does not grant base access and cancellation or modification fees still apply if entry is denied. Active Duty, Reservists, Retirees, eligible Veterans, and DoD employees may book up to three reservations per stay; former military with patronage expansion privileges are limited to one reservation at a time and must pre-register with the Visitors Center before arrival. Starting November 3, 2025, reservations may be made up to 12 months in advance, including the current month.
