Desert Breeze Travel Camp

📍 Yuma, AZ ✔ Branch: Army 🏙 Yuma Proving Ground

Overview

Desert Breeze Travel Camp sits at Yuma Proving Ground, the Army's primary weapons testing installation in southwest Arizona. The campground runs 102 sites, each with water, sewer, and 20/30/50-amp electric. On-site you'll find coin-operated laundry, showers, restrooms, and Wi-Fi. A community recreation center, covered pavilion, fitness room, and computer/media center round out the setup. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a camp host covers after-hours and weekend needs. Yuma averages over 4,100 hours of sunlight per year, which makes this a draw for winter campers looking to get out of the cold. MWR organizes excursions to regional attractions, along with on-post activities like bowling, tennis, potlucks, and movie nights. Deep-sea fishing trips off San Diego are also on the scheduled excursion list. Call the camp host at (928) 247-5925 for after-hours assistance, or reach the office at (928) 328-3989. Verify current access requirements and availability before you head out.
