Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA)
Overview
Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area — known as BLORA — sits on Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) outside Belton, TX. The campground offers full hook-up sites with 30/50 amp electric, sewer, restrooms and showers, picnic tables, a playground, and a dump station. A boat ramp is available for launching, and shoreline fishing is permitted with a valid Texas state fishing license. The fishing dock and Bass Boat Ramp are currently closed due to storm damage, so check current conditions before hauling gear. Access requires a valid DoD ID or Installation Access Pass for all vehicle occupants 18 and older. Non-ID holders must register for a visitor pass at the Marvin Leath Visitor Welcome Center on T.J. Mills Blvd, Building 69012, near the Bernie Mack Main Gate off Interstate 14. Last entry is at 9 p.m., and the park closes at 2200 hours daily. Call (254) 287-2523 or (254) 287-8303 to make reservations or confirm site availability. Verify current rates and storm-related closures directly with BLORA before your trip.
