Destin Army Recreation Area
Overview
The Destin Army Recreation Area is a Fort Moore (Fort Benning) operated facility sitting on 15 acres along the Choctawhatchee Bay in Old Destin, Florida — about 220 miles south of the main post. The RV park runs year-round and offers sites sized for rigs up to 45 feet, with 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer hookups. WiFi and cable are available on-site. Amenities include laundry, restrooms and showers, picnic tables, a playground, a boat ramp, and fishing access off a 300-foot pier — no Florida fishing license required when using that pier. Access is open to active duty, retired military, their families, and DoD civilians. RV stays are capped at 30 nights during summer and 3 months during the winter season.
