Overview

Toledo Bend Army Recreation Park sits on the Toledo Bend Reservoir, about 45 minutes from Fort Johnson (formerly Fort Polk), near Florien, Louisiana. The reservoir straddles the Texas-Louisiana state line along the Sabine River, covering 185,000 acres of surface water and 1,200 miles of shoreline — the fifth largest by surface acreage in the United States and the biggest in the South. The RV area offers both full hook-up and partial hook-up sites, with water, electric, and sewer service available. Laundry, showers, a dump station, a boat ramp, and fishing access round out the setup. The park store near the front gate stocks fishing gear, ice, snacks, and basic supplies. Reservations open six months out for Active Duty and their dependents, three months for retirees, disabled veterans, and DoD civilians.
