Holloman AFB FamCamp
Overview
Holloman AFB FamCamp sits on Holloman Air Force Base a few miles southwest of Alamogordo in southern New Mexico, right off US-70 — and its biggest draw is location: it's only about 8 miles from the stunning white gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park. The park offers 36 full-hookup paved sites (30/50-amp, water, sewer) with picnic tables and mountain views, plus unlimited overflow dry-camping space. On-site are restrooms with showers, free laundry, a dump station, and a playground, and the base has a large commissary and exchange, golf course, gym, pools, and library. It's a no-frills but solid stop — a great base for exploring White Sands, the New Mexico Museum of Space History, Cloudcroft, and even Roswell. Cell and Starlink coverage are strong here.

Important Info
RV only — no tents. First-come, first-served — no reservations; check in with the camp host (after-hours, use the self-pay envelope). RVs up to any size, but the main gate has tight "S" curves and a narrow entrance — large rigs should use the Commercial/truck gate (open weekdays 6:00 AM–6:00 PM only). The park sits along Highway 70 (separated by a block wall), so expect some traffic noise. 30-day maximum stay. Open to active duty and retired military / DoD ID holders. Always confirm current rates, availability, and gate access before you travel.
