Grassy Pond Recreation Area
Overview
Grassy Pond Recreation Area is a 500-plus-acre Moody Air Force Base annex in Lake Park, Georgia — a state-park-like retreat set around the tranquil 275-acre Grassy Pond and 30-acre Lott's Pond, just 2 miles off I-75 near Valdosta. It offers 39 full-hookup RV sites (30/50-amp, water, sewer) on gravel pads with picnic tables and grills, plus 10 tent sites, 15 fully equipped cabins, and 4 cottages. The fishing is a major draw — bass, catfish, and bream, with a boat launch, floating docks, and pedal boat/canoe/kayak rentals. Also on-site: nature trails, playgrounds, a wading pool, sports courts, four covered pavilions, laundry, showers, and a small store. It recently reopened after Hurricane Helene repairs. It's about 12 minutes to Wild Adventures theme park in Valdosta.
