El Centro RV Park
Overview
El Centro RV Park (Palm Oasis) sits on Naval Air Facility El Centro in Southern California's Imperial Valley, about two hours east of San Diego — and it's famously the winter home of the Blue Angels, who train here from roughly November through March. Watching the Blue Angels practice overhead is the standout draw, alongside affordable full-hookup camping and the base's recreation facilities. The main park offers around 82 full-hookup sites (30/50-amp, water, sewer) with free WiFi on a clean, quiet, well-laid-out asphalt lot, plus a smaller "Sunrise Park" section and overflow dry sites. On-site are showers, a $1 coin laundry, and a dump station; the base has a small exchange and shoppette, with Walmart and full shopping about 15 minutes away in town. It's a convenient, safe, bargain stop right off I-8 — especially popular as a mild-winter destination.

RV only — no tents. Check-in at Building 318 (RV Registration, north end of the MWR Gear Issue building), Monday–Friday; after-hours check-in at the Community Recreation Ticket Office (Bldg 202) or via the agreement form/site list at Bldg 318. Cashless — credit cards only. Summers are extremely hot (it's below sea level in the desert); winter is the prime season, and Blue Angels season fills up. Reservations up to 1 year ahead for active duty, 6 months for other authorized users; 180-day maximum stay.
