Solomons Navy Recreation Center

📍 Solomons, MD ✔ Branch: Navy 🏙 NRC Solomons

Overview

Navy Recreation Center Solomons sits on a peninsula in southern Maryland where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. This is an MWR facility operated by Naval District Washington, and it draws a steady crowd — active duty, retirees, and DoD civilians all compete for reservations here. Lodging options are available, and the Point Patience Marina side of the facility includes a comfort station, laundry, showers, and a boat ramp, making it a workable stop for boaters as well as campers. Access is open to active duty and their dependents, reservists in an active standing, retired military, and Department of War civilian and contract employees. The main gate off MD Route 4 runs 24/7. Active duty can book up to a year out; retirees and DoW civilians get a six-month window. Call (410) 326-6872 to check availability and confirm current access rules before you make the drive.
