MacDill AFB FamCamp

Overview

MacDill AFB FamCamp is a large, military-only campground located on the southern end of the Interbay Peninsula in Tampa, Florida. Open year-round, the campground sits directly along Tampa Bay and is especially busy during the winter “snowbird” season, when advance reservations are strongly recommended. The campground includes more than 350 RV sites, the majority offering full utility connections with water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric service, and cable TV. A smaller number of partial hook-up and dry camping sites are also available for shorter stays. Sites are generally paved and arranged in a more open layout, with limited natural shade. Camp Layout & Amenities
The facility is divided into two primary areas: Main Camp – Located closer to the marina and beach, with convenient access to bathhouses and laundry facilities. Annex Area – Positioned nearer the base golf course, typically offering a quieter atmosphere but without dedicated bathhouse or laundry buildings in that section. On-site amenities include restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, and multiple dog-friendly areas including designated dog parks and a dog beach. The marina provides boat access and rental options, and a white-sand beach area offers waterfront relaxation (swimming availability may vary). A beachside restaurant, Seascapes, is located nearby. Additional Information
The campground is open to eligible active-duty personnel, retirees, and other authorized ID cardholders. Reservations can typically be made up to one year in advance, with a limited number of sites held for first-come, first-served availability. Seasonal rate adjustments may apply. Wi-Fi and cellular reception can be inconsistent in some areas of the park.
