Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area
Overview
Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA), located in Linn Creek, Missouri, is a military-focused getaway operated by Fort Leonard Wood MWR. Situated along the Grand Glaize arm of Lake of the Ozarks, the property provides eligible service members and their families with access to waterfront recreation in one of Missouri’s most popular lake regions.
LORA offers a range of lodging and camping options to accommodate different travel styles. Guests can choose from primitive campsites, RV spaces with either full or partial hookups, cabins, or barracks-style accommodations. All lodging units are climate-controlled and designed for year-round use. Linens are available, and cabins include basic conveniences such as a television and microwave. A 24-hour laundry facility is on-site, though daily housekeeping service is not provided.
The surrounding lake features more than 1,100 miles of shoreline, offering extensive opportunities for water-based activities including swimming, fishing, boating, and watersports. The marina provides rental options such as pontoon boats, deck boats, bass boats, personal watercraft, and towable tubes.
RV sites feature concrete pads and are available in both pull-through and back-in configurations. Sites can accommodate rigs up to approximately 54 feet in length and include a picnic table and grill. Campers may select between full hookup or partial hookup service depending on their needs.
